Making Places: Community Consultation
(This is an archived post from Trust’s original wordpress website, originally published in 2018)
Come and see the future of your civic square at the next Making Places community consultation being held at the Plaza on Thursday 23rd August, 2018 from 11am to 7pm. Everyone is invited to come along to see the draft community design plan and to share your views and comments on what is being proposed.
Over the last couple of months we've been working with HarrisonStevens to collect the community's views about the Westside Plaza. We've asked everyone taking part to share their views and ideas about this space. As well as the community day that was held in June, there have been consultation workshops held with the Wester Hailes Youth Agency, the WHEC and Canal View Primary. About Youth carried out a consultation with young people using the Plaza, and the Digital Sentinel has been collecting views online. We've also talked to local stakeholders including the shopping centre and the council.
HarrisonStevens took all the different ideas that were gathered and have produced a draft design plan. They want to show this to the community to make sure that everyone agrees that these are the improvements needed to create a better civic square that feels welcoming, safe and attractive. They will be at the Plaza on Thursday 23rd August from 11am to 7pm.
