Small Sparks Grant for Communitea

The WHCT is proud to support the innovative CommuniTea project which aims to work with local people to grow and forage medicinal herbs around Wester Hailes and turning them into herbal teas for all. Grass Roots Remedies applied for £7,500 to match fund a larger partnership focused project that takes a holistic and natural approach to health and well-being. As well as foraging for seasonal wild herbs, the project is working with the community gardens and local gardeners to grow the herbs and plants required. People taking part with learn how to use the plants safely and with confidence. Grass Roots Remedies has been working in Wester Hailes for a while, running a Community Clinic situated in the Healthy Living Centre. They have developed strong links locally which has enabled the development of the partnership involved with this exciting project.
